↳ 01 — HOW IT WORKS

A clear answer.
With useful context.

We check from our server.

We request the website from our server. You get its HTTP status, response time, and a straight answer about what happened.

Up doesn’t mean everything works.

One check isn’t the whole internet. A site can block us, work in another region, or load while its login is broken. We tell you what we can actually see.

COMMON QUESTIONS
↳ WEBSITE AVAILABILITY

Website down?
Start here.

How do I check if a website is down?

Enter its domain, such as example.com, and select Check website. WebUpCheck looks up the address and requests the page from its server. The result shows whether the site responded, its HTTP status, and when the check happened.

Why does WebUpCheck say a website is up when I can’t open it?

The website responded to our server, but your connection may take a different route. Try reloading the page, another browser, or a different network. Regional restrictions, device settings, and partial outages can affect access.

Does a blocked check mean the website is down?

No. Some websites restrict automated requests, require a login, or limit requests. We show a blocked result instead of claiming the website is down.

What do HTTP 404 and 503 mean?

A 404 means the requested page was not found; the rest of the website may work. A 503 means the server reported that the service is unavailable, which can happen during maintenance or overload.

Does WebUpCheck monitor uptime continuously?

On-demand checks run when you request them. A curated set of service pages also records homepage observations every 15 minutes. This is not continuous monitoring or multi-region verification. API and MCP results may be cached for up to 30 seconds.
